Jane Graves

I love helping people.

I love studying and learning new things - from my Natural Sciences degree, to a Certificate in Archeology when my children were small, and more recently, level 3 in Counseling Skills.  Currently I am undertaking the Holistic Sleep Coaching Course, so I look forward to offering families support around sleep in the near future.

I enjoy putting together my knowledge and skills with exercising my empathy to empower people to find their way forward.

I am married with four grown up children..

I am a Christian and a regular church goer.

I like sketching, reading, embroidery, tea shops, walks in nature and

peace and quiet.

I qualified as an IBCLC in 2017, not a career path I had planned - I originally trained as a librarian, worked as an administrator for a church in Manchester, and then was a stay at home mum for my four children for 12 years.  My own breastfeeding experiences varied widely, starting with trying to establish breastfeeding in a neonatal unit, through many tears and long nights, into balancing toddler and baby needs and out into a happy breastfeeding relationship with my youngest child. A local breastfeeding support group made all the difference to me, so I began volunteering there in 2006. Since then I have looked for ways to give families the support with feeding that I would have wanted for  myself.
